I agree with Canadiens, despite the obvious temptation to make briefings team-specific, I believe they should all be partial. Oh, and:

Alliance Intelligence has picked up a distress call from one of it’s operatives on Tatooine. [...] A Rebel Strike Team has been dispatched to secure the town, and retrieve that intel before the Empire discovers it’s location!

Isn't "it's" a contraction of "it is"? And Intel should be capitalized.

Don't get me wrong, the mod itself is great, but some of those briefings need some work.

yultemsee wrote:

Yeah i think it is important as well
also have you looked at the map descriptions. They have a lot of errors that when fixed will make it look more professional. This may have already been fixed.

Now that you mention it, there are a couple small issues there too... I'm just gonna highlight my added suggestions in green, stuff to take out in red.

Battle of Taloraan
With the war raging on throughout the galaxy, <(comma) both sides have started to run low on many critical supplies. High on the list of needed war materials is Tibanna gas, a critical substance used in the construction and operation of most blaster weapons. Desperate to refill their stockpiles, both the Alliance and the Empire have dispatched convoys to the planet of Taloraan to collect the vital gas. En route these small fleets have encountered one another and now both sides have engaged in a pitched battle to ensure that the other side's supply of tibanna gas is disrupted.

Encounter at Mos Entha
Following fierce fighting in Mos Espa, the pathetic Rebel band has been forced to retreat to the nearby town of Mos Entha by the superior fighting forces of the Empire. Rallying our troops we will finally take them under the cover of night. The Imperial war cruiser, Allegiance, in orbit has shot down a Rebel Blockade Runner resulting in the vessel crash landing in the centre|center of town. The Rebel scum’s hopes of escape have just gone up in flames. New reports from the Allegiance indicate that Rebel space forces have entered the system and that she has just engaged the enemy. The time has come for us to do the same here on the ground. For the Empire!

Endor Clearing
Rebel Commander: “One of our transports has gone down on the forest moon. An Imperial recon force has been deployed to the crash site. You will be deployed just north of the site, secure any survivors and defeat the Imperial presence. May the Force be with you.” Imperial Ground Commander: “While our fleet is engaging the Rebels in space, we have detected a transport crashing on this moon. Stormtroopers, we have no need for prisoners. You have your orders, move out!” 16p – 3 flags all cappable 32p – 5 flags all cappable

Doesn't belong in the official localization text, please remove.

Endor Strike Team
With the battle for Endor raging above, the fight for the shield generator has taken a turn for the worse. Faced with a legion of crack stormtroopers guarding the shield generator, the Alliance had dispatched more groundtroops in an attempt to secure the ground and buy time for the bunker to be destroyed. It is now a race against the clock for the Alliance to eliminate the entire Imperial presence on the forest moon of Endor before the fleet above is annihilated.

Escape from Hoth
After the Battle of Hoth, and the subsequent evacuation of the Rebel Alliance stronghold| ,Echo|, Echo Base, the last group of Rebel Gallofree Transports heads for space. Unfortunately the Imperial Star Destroyer Vindicator lies in their path, between them and clear space free of Hoth’s gravity well that will allow them to make the jump to hyperspace. Luckily the base’s Ion Cannon crew set the weapon to auto fire at any enemy vessels that close into range. The resulting blast has temporarily crippled the mighty Imperial war cruiser. However the Transports and their escort wing of Rebel Starfighters must still deal with the crippled ship’s compliment of TIE Fighters and Bombers before they can make good their escape.

Tatooine MosEspa
Alliance Intelligence has picked up a distress call from one of it’s operatives on Tatooine. He suspects that a Bounty Hunter is on his trail. This operative was on his way back to central command carrying vital information for the Alliance, the jump co-ordinates|coordinates that lead to the newly established base on Hoth. Fearing capture, he has hidden the data module in the sleepy town of Mos Espa. Intercepted Imperial communications indicate that the operative was indeed captured, and the Bounty Hunter has contacted Imperial forces who are now on their way to Tatooine to collect the prisoner. A Rebel Strike Team has been dispatched to secure the town, and retrieve that intel before the Empire discovers it’s location!

Looking at FirstStrike's localization file (strings.csv), there's a couple discrepancies you should know about. I think once corrected, it'll make the gamemodes even easier to read.

Area Conquest
This is an area conquest map. CP radius areas are much larger than standard conquest, so patrol your area and defend it.

Since the other modes have their titles capitalized, the name should match to be "Area Conquest". Also, because there's a lot of newcomers who haven't read the manual, I'm not entirely comfortable with using the veteran abbreviation "CP"; it should be outright "Control Point".

Conquest: Head-on
This is a Conquest: Head-on map. Your team will win if you cause your opponent's tickets to reach zero. You can increase the rate at which they lose tickets by holding at least half of the control points on this map.

Conquest: Assault
This is a Conquest: Assault map. The force that causes the opponent's tickets to reach zero wins. The defending force can reduce the attacking force's tickets gradually by holding all of the control points on the map. The attacking force can gradually reduce the defending force's tickets by holding all of the control points on the map.

I understand you didn't want to match Conquest: Head-on too closely, but those last two sentences are on the verge of redundant, and confusing. Something like "You can increase the rate at which the enemy loses tickets by holding all of the control points on this map." is simpler and clearer.

Conquest: Double Assault
This is a Conquest: Double assault map. You reduce opponent's tickets by holding more than half of the control points on the map. You win by capturing all control points or by reducing the opponent's tickets to zero.

Should follow the capitalization rule of the others, "Conquest: Double Assault" .

Escort
This is an Escort map. The Rebel team will win if they manage to jump over 50% of their Rebel Transports to safety via the hyperspace jump point at the top of the map. The Empire will win if they manage to destroy over 50% of the Rebel Transports. The Rebel team need to take out the heavy turbolasers located on the topsides of the ISD before attempting to take any transports past.

This is a singular collective noun, the word should be "needs". And there's only one "topside".

Fleet Engagement
This is a Fleet Engagement map. Either team will win by destroying the other teams' fleet first.

Not true. Over half a fleet is made of starfighters, who if destroyed, don't count as ticket-losses. It's the other teams' fleet of capital-ships you must destroy to win.

Push
This is a Push map. The Rebel team must hold the town CPs in order to bleed the Imperial’s tickets dry. The Empire must invade the town from the south taking the CPs in sequence to gain control of Mos Espa.

More CP usage. Perhaps just change the first one to "Control Points", the second one will be easily deciphered then.

Push Double Assault
This is a Push: Double Assault map. Both Imperial and Rebel forces can take and hold any flag. The team that drive the other off the map wins. The minimap indicate connected flags.

Collective noun thingy, "drives" is the word to use. And the minimap "indicates"; I hate language arts.

Push Rebel Assault
This is a Push: Rebel Assault map. The defending Imperials cannot retake flags captured by the Rebel forces. Rebels will win if they can push the Imperials off the map before tickets run out. The minimap indicate connected flags.

Just "indicates".

Please don't take this as a technically-correct complaint from some perfectionist. I just want this mod to have a truly polished presentation, like it deserves... and I think having right grammar is an important step in making that happen.

Hope you agree.
