In controls.con find the following:
ControlMap.create AirPlayerInputControlMap

Underneath that category look for:
ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PISprint IDFKeyboard IDKey_LeftShift 0 0

Beneath that line add:
ControlMap.addButtonToTriggerMapping c_PISprint IDFGameController_0 IDButton_1 0 1

Replace IDButton_1 with whichever joystick button you wish to use.

Then do the same beneath:
ControlMap.create HelicopterPlayerInputControlMap

Controls.con is generally found in something along the lines of:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\0001

To get that to work I had to edit the controls.con file in notepad, adding the button. It was a while ago, so I'll have to go retrace my steps to remember what I did. Er.... If you don't get a reply from official channels.

Don't forget to make a backup copy of your controls.con file before you go messing with it tho.

I use my freedom 2.4 logitech and I cant use the boost on my joystick but it is only one button.

i cant seem to set the boost button on vehicle on primary or secondry to my joystick
which is a wingman force 3d but it works on keyboard? any ideas on what could be wrong, the calibration is fine so everything should work.
