its no vista error. its a BF engine error. happens in bf2 aswell.had it myself with both games. the only solution i found was fully unistalling the game, including the "my files/battlefield 2142" (back up you screens if you like them)

I remember getting that error once. I've long since forgotten what I did to take care of it but it's happened to other people too on vanilla 2142. Do a google search with '2142 insane error', there's several forums etc. where it's being/been discussed.

I've browsed the forums and found some answers to some problems. Yet, there's one I didn't find anything about. I get the following error message, and have no idea what it means :

Happens with some maps and not others. Mos Espa works, but not Mos Ethna (spelling?)

Tried to re-install the game, but still there...
