i found it ages ago reading pc gamer i think. Then i dropped in every once in a while to see how it was going. once it got close to release i joined the forums.

Looks like a problem on their front page publishing system.

Anyhow, some great ideas for the 1.2 patch would be

[] See if the full 1.2 install of the mod could be included on a gaming magazine CD, or at least featured in the mod spotlight section

[] Work with websites with high volume of Star Wars gamers (aka Lucasfiles)

[] Contact popular PC gaming blogs (such as Kotaku) in hopes of getting a feature post regarding FS 1.2

[] Send community members out to work on the gaming forums they are already regular posters on

yeh i only found this mod while i was surfing through old stuff on the galactic conquest forums, i was trying to find something exactly like this , lucky

I only found this mod when I was browsing random "robot chicken" episodes on youtube.

Yep, the new update isn't even on the Total2142 homepage (not sure if this is the devs fault or theirs).

Regardless, the PR department of First Strike seems to be lagging when they should be ramping up to the patch. More needs to be done.

This game is fantastic. Truly excellent graphics, great adherence to SW in every way, rare crashes (for me), and huge potential to be greatly successful.

As far as the player base growing I'd like to say that the only reason I found out about this game was due to one small post almost off the bottom of the first page on a forum board. A few more hours and I wouldnt have seen it or played.

I would have played the previous GC mod but I never did hear about it at all until recently, and I play lots of FPS games and SW games (since Dark Forces) - I just never heard about it in any way.

I really think everyone has to get the word out about this mod - I almost missed this one and totally missed GC.

This game has the potential to be at least as big as similar games in the past - except FS is much better (especially with Hoth and AT-ATs). People (like me) just need to find out about it.

Maybe some sort of advertising, forum posts, search engine listings, links or something...
