It's really no different, if you install it in 2142 you'd need to extract your 2142 files and you wouldnt have to copy and paste your maps from BF2 to 2142, but overall it doesn't make a difference really.

Thanks for the info.

Are there any other advantages to having the editor installed in 2142 instead of bf2? I've just spent a lot of time learning/getting everything working properly so as it stands right now I'd like to start getting creative.

If I'd benefit greatly from moving the editor I could probably bring myself to do it.

Works fine for me. But I think my method of installation is slightly differnt to Tys.

If you do as he said and install the editor in 2142 or if you your common files folders in BF2 mod the box will go away.

Yea I get this too but I just deal with it... don't feel like reinstalling everything.

It makes it annoying to fine tune object positions. I have to swivel my camera view around in hopes of being able to see where I'm moving my object.

I get this weird white area everytime I select an object with the Move Tool. I haven't been able to find a solution. It doesn't happen when I'm working on bf2 maps. Only when I'm working with FirstStrike maps.

Any ideas?
