thank you Dutch! Alright I have been having trouble with BF2142 Crashing and after 13 hours of fixin I got it to work. So If I uninstall I will have to figure what I did before =/ when installin Firststrike it said I didnt have 1.25 =/ when I had installed 1.4 3 times

pb has a problem with vista at the moment. i dont think they have fixed it

always update PB manualy after installing a game that uses it. that way you know for sure that PB isnt causing the problems.

Like said: no SP cept for the SP mini mod thats out there somewhere.
for MP go to advanced server list and make sure that atleast Ranked is turned of.

also seeing as its vista, make sure your updated every last driver you have.
check manualy if you know where to look and no windowsupdate.com isnt manualy

SIngleplayer doesn't work without the minimod, but try going to online, advanced tab and that should be where all the servers are.

As for Vista make sure you're running it in admin mode, if all else fails reinstall 2142 and FS

Nope still not working
And, when i start up Singleplayer check a map it exits saying BF2142pace.exe or something has stopped working!! Errr

its probably a vista problem, but you could also try updating your punkbuster at evenbalance.com

Could be a Vista problem. Haven't heard of that error before.

usually you have to install bf2142 patch 1.25, then FS, FS 1.1, bf2142 patch 1.4, this way it should work fine and worked for me (i also have downloaded bf2142 via download manager)

I know you have been getting alot of this lately, but I have downloaded BF2142 (EA Download Manager), I have had to install on new computer. Anyway, then I downloaded Firststrike, then I downloaded the 1.40 patch. I did this in order on Accident ; Install BF2142, install FS, install Patch then I uninstalled FS, repatched the game, accidently deleted FS installer, redownloaded it, and installed. I ran the program, I logged in, chose my soldier, clicked Server list (no servers) so I went to local and wanted to create a local one and it crashed saying "BF2142pace or something is not responding.
By the way I am running Windows Vista, if that helps at all. I am sorry for inexperience of not knowing about this kinda stuff, if this is a easy problem.
