Sounds like you've got the old FS-not-installed-with-v1.25 bug

Just unistall BF2142, then reinstall it, patch to 1.25, install FS (and Northern Strike if you have it), then patch to 1.4.

Its probably battlefield. can you join any servers in vanilla 2142?
BF2 did the same thing to me a while ago. had to re-install it.

I try to go onto a multiplayer server and this damn mod has the frickin nerve to tell me that i have got a fake copy of battlefield 2142.

Whats going on? my disk couldn't be more uthentic*.
