im still looking for some br files just like to bump my last post for them hope u dont mind lol

if i could get some files trust me i`ll do my best work yet with this mod.
I will say they are utube and well we all know it trashes the quality of the film but u`ll still see they are better than most utube pixel rubbish.

Hm, most Tests show what SLI only make sense if you have a big TFT Display and want to play with all quality settings like AA on High.
If your TFT ist limited to 1280 x 1024 Pixels (most 17 & 19" TFTs) a good medium class GraphicCard like the nvidea 7800 & 7900 and ATI 1950 Series runs BF2 and BF 2142 @ 30 to 60 FpS.

Two cheap Cards in SLI don't have more Power than a good medium Class Card while even two SLI HighEnd Cards have a hard work to show an actual game like Crysis or CoD4 at the native resolution of a 32" TFT with all eye candy.

BF2 and BF 2142 gains a lot of additional Power if you upgrade to 2 GIG, mostly in the loading time of the maps and client verification.
The exact ammount of RAM needed ist also a question of graphic settings an GraphicCard Memory. HighGraphic Settings an low RAM isn't good.

For Fraps:
Using a second HardDrive to record the Movie should gain performance.
Limiting the maximum FpS of BF 2142 by using game.lockFps 30 in the konsole makes the record smoother.

Also think about the final video.
In most cases it's in 640 x 480 Pixels because the limitations of YouTube. Even if you plan to show the vid on a beamer higher res aren't needed.
So its stupid to record the game in highres an resize later.

Speaking about youtube:
Stage6 from DviX allows better res an to download the vid, there is also less competition. Currently there are only 3 FirstStrike Vids on Stage6, one of them very professional.

actually i could do that too, i got dual core centrino with 2x2GHz, 2GB RAM, GeForce go 7700, when recording with fraps i get like 50-45 fps, so i can still play smoothly, the only problem is, that i cant record the sound with fraps since i only got the freeware version, so if anyone of you got a different program to record video and audio, i would greatly appreciate it and could possibly make a good movie. i also got good video cutting software since my father uses special software (something better than windows movie maker ) and could definitely deliver you some high quality movie!

1024MB PC3200 DDR RAM
Single EVGA 7900GT

It's a semi-decent rig that I have been meaning to upgrade for a while now, but just don't have the time, finances, or motivation to do so except in small increments. Btw... how much of a difference would you say that SLI setup makes over a single card?

possibly, whats the rest of your rig like? I'm running an Athlaon 64 3500, 2Gb RAM and two 7900GT in SLI. With Fraps I can usually get 50 fps while recording and 70 without recording.

If I could run Fraps without reducing my FPS to... like 6... I could give you some pretty awesome space combat runs. Slightly off topic, but would a second gig of RAM help this any?

I can offer quite a great deal of Battlerecorder files, but I'm fairly sure Woodrow can't run on High Quality settings so Battlerecorder wouldn't quite fill his needs.
