It's still a planet, it didn't just get blown up or completely forgotten right after the clone wars ended. It is still a good place to build a base and have a battle. Besides, even if there wasn't a battle on Geonosis, it's still possible, it's not like every last little thing has to be exactly in place, a lot of things are, but Geonosis is still a logical spot for a battle. roll

That was exactly what happened. The Ion cannon was set to auto-disable the ISD's so the transports could escape.

Anyways...really, do you expect one planet to just sit there uninhabited for the rest of space and time after the clone wars? There were some battles there, and its a perfect place to make a hidden military base. O_o

If thats the case then people would complain about why the propper team didnt win every match on a map where only one outcome happens in the movies or storylines.
half of the star wars univers is about fantasy and role-playing.
If its kept too rigid and the creativity is stiffled, then you lose the fun .
What happens will happen ... rewrite history !
