Just remembered that my brother has The Orange Box, and after seething my way through the most idiotic install program I've ever been faced with (What the F.ck is up with install programs that display your f.cking password as letters and numbers after you've typed it in? What's the point of it appearing in asterisks as you enter it if it's shown as regular digits right afterwards?!), I was told that the CD-key was already registered by someone else, and that I couldn't play. I don't bloody believe it.

Piracy is making gaming oh so fun.

How would anyone win in a game like that?

I just got the orange box yesterday. Bunch of games and mods for one price. Downloaded Zombie Panic... funny stuff. Downloading the Vikings, Pirates and Knights mod right now, anyone played that?

P.S. It appears to be Battlefield 2, but they are supposed to be making a 2142 mod also... haven't seen much proof of that though.

Stargate La Releve (it's a French Stargate mod for bf2142). Unfortunately, it's not out yet, and you can't really understand anything unless you know French

Man, with The Orange Box out, there's no excuse NOT to get HL2. In fact, I might be able to get someone to gift you a copy of HL2 since they already have it and purchased it a second time as part of a package deal.

He was kidding, thats what they did to PR in the latest version, something that really put me off. I can sort of understand why really hard-core realism fans would enjoy the no minimap (there is a compass), but the SL spawning... :S There are rally points which you can spawn from, but if your squad doesn't have four members you can't place them and more often than not they get destroyed anyway.

And that French mod... Unless France starts off with 5 tickets every round thats a bit of an exaggerated French army don't you think? *locks self in bomb shelter*

remove the minimap from FS and squad leader spawning. why. do you hate team play or what. how else would you see the enemy when you scan.

If you want shooting from the movies then nobody would ever be able to kill anybody because storm troopers cant shoot anything.

PR is still awesome I think, but yes, .7 added a lot of stuff that'll take a while to get used to. I actually liked that they removed the minimap, though [goes off with Ty to pester Imperial to remove minimap and SL spawning from FS ] I took the tank out for a spin yesterday in an offline round of Kashan, and was amazed by how easily it took out targets 400 meters away. Good zoom, long range, one-hit-one-kill apparently even against other tanks. Amazing machine. Think I'll fear it a good deal more in-game from now on!

Looking forward to try Fools Road, too!
