Think of balancing issues though, in BF2 you could hide from air pretty easily if you knew how, but in SW these ships are not anti-infantry, they are made to kill other ships. If anyone played Battlefront 1 you will remember how realisticly powerful starfighters where, killing at-st's with almost entirely with one missile at its cockpit. Not to mention how fast these fighters realy WOULD move, if as a previous post stated, we would like to see combined gameplay, it will not be possible with these fighters. Also no starfighters have a good design for flying in atmosphere, and I think that the design of other craft designed for air travel aids to speed and menuverability, despite the techknowlagy actualy keeping them flying. Remember, this isn't about "what could be done" it's about what a battle would have in it when being fought on the ground(imo) Some new hovercraft for perhaps deployment of troops would be a cool vehicle that would add new gameplay. Maybe you guys could dig up some craft that could match helicopters and such that can be good against infantry(ground battles should be more about classic FPS gameplay and space battles more about well....spase battles, imo).
My first post here, I ordered new computer and plan on installing my copy of BF2142 and then this mod asap!!!

Coming back to classic bf2 gameplay,
but i think lots of people who have experience in bf2 would think that bombers would be a pain in the ***. But maybe im wrong. who knos. I like the idea. It would add a lot more excitement to the high pressure close quarter maps like tatooine mos espa.

You can go and argue the semantics of when the GCW ended until you're blue in the face, it does'nt matter. The core design mandate of First Strike is to deal in the era covered by the original trilogy. So this means content primarily sourced from the movies, with the use of EU material only to fill in the gaps where no appropriate movie prop/vehicle exists, like shoulder mounted missile launchers and tanks for example. Once we have thoroughly mined this era's material, then, and only then, will we possibly be looking deeper into EU lore for additional material. But that day is quite a while off yet, so stop arguing about it already.
