But seriously, why won't you tell us these things? How much effort would it have taken you to put actual info there? I can't think of any reason why the number of maps to be released is top secret information >_>

Most of the time we withhold information because what you want to know hasn't been finalized.  It's generally bad practice to tell you we have X new maps and then decide to cut one of the maps from update X.X for whatever reason because it would cause much more disappointment and frustration than just not telling until we know what we're going to do for sure.  It would be percieved as a "broken promise", and we sure don't want that.  There is a news update in the works that will hopefully satiate some of your cravings for the time being.  Trust me, we are working as hard as we can with what resources and time that we have.  Try to be patient because, believe it or not, us devs want to get the release out to you as bad as you want to get the release.
