Closing S-Foils = Speed/Maneuverability (dunno about maneuverability...maybe, maybe not.) Increase but disables or lessens weapon power/accuracy (i haven't found out which) Opening S-Foils = Field of fire/accuraccy. Anyways...everyone who said this isnt a sim, you're right, and since all of the places that you will be in fighters will be battles, you wouldn't be closing S-Foils anyway.

Something i made up: "Combat Flight Simulator: Star Wars Edition!"

No change in speed settings, the only thing that happened was you couldnt shoot.

Yeah, it was stupid. Maneuverability should've been increased with the s-foils open. Of course, the X-wing & T.I.E. Fighter series were both horrendously inaccurate (albeit, still great games).

Heh, actually you could. I'd forgotten that. I also seem to recall there was absolutely no reason to do so, and that your AI never bothered to. Up until XWA, they never even closed their s-foils when landing. I remember playing XWA and seeing an X-Wing for the first time in mission 5 or something, when Olin Garn left that space colony. Me and my brother were like, 'wow, closed s-foils!' as he left the hangar.

S-Foils - Maybe nice from a lore standpoint, but it's not a sim game, so be happy with what we've got. I'm sure if it was possible the dev's would have already worked on it. As for slowing down or stopping mid dogfight, I wouldn't advise it as it takes those precious few seconds to get going agin that it doesn't take long to get shot down, especially if it's busy. The other night a few people were doing it and I was picking them off easily. If I see S-Foils closing I reverse my loop and do a himmelman to finish them off, not just keep going so they can try and get a shot back at me.

Invulnerability glitch - What glitch???
