I just realized it's a bit of a bad example anyhow, as spotting, sniping or firing your mortar at the enemy while your team advances isn't strictly lone-wolfing as such, as you're working with and keeping in touch with your team. Oh well.

Like the team could create a diversion, while one person travel
behind the enemies position. But then again maybe one person not enough for the job,
maybe 2 or 3. Its tactics like these that makes FS a little bit more interesting.

Same. Usually, i just do what i consider will be the most successful.
"Take this base, well, they're gonna be either defending the base in front, or try to take it back."
"Well, they took that base, so I'll go out on my own and scout out the road to see if they're coming."

It all depends on whats going on and what would work the best at the moment, it's not always the exact same thing. Lone wolfing isn't inevitably a failing tactic, sometimes it works better than teamplay, sometimes it doesn't. It really depends on how it's going, what might happen next, what you can do in the battle by doing this or that. Usually, it depends on the player. If you have a cunning/skilled player lone wolfing, he will have a better chance of success, if you have an arrogant noob lone wolfing then, well, you're screwed.

It's never the same. Sometimes teamwork is successful, sometimes going solo works also (though not as often, for other people anyways). There are many factors to decide what works. Now, if you keep doing something that doesn't work, then you're obviously a bad player, and possibly you should be kicked. But again, there are factors.

Personally, for most games, if my team seems capable of holding their own, I will decide to lonewolf (successfully). Although I cannot for FS, because FS currently only seems to support teamplay, so I'm pretty much forced into a squad (not criticizing).

Alright, anywho...Safe, i understand some of what you're saying. But still...you can't just take every feature away just because someone might mess it up! You may as well say "Lets shut down FS now. Too many noobs are playing it and since they mess with the game experience, we're not going to host it anymore." If people just took away everything that could POSSIBLY cause a problem, then there wouldn't be games. In every game, there is ALWAYS a way to mess something up. (tribes 2 construction mod: Spamming deployables. Other games: Hacks, chat-spam, exploits.) Just because there is a way to mess something up, you have to have faith in the SMART part of the playerbase who wouldn't be so stupid to do such things. If he lone wolfs, it comes out as his loss because he will never get a point. If he does it to the point that it's a total burden for his team, he may as well be accused of letting the enemy kill him intentionally. To put it simply, Nobody is going to repetitively walk off a cliff, killing themselves over and over, unless they want to be a burden to their team and intentionally reduce their tickets, in which case they will be kicked.

Edit: Battlemaster...theres an "Edit" button under your posts. Edit them like so instead of posting over and over like you did on the first page please.
