I use a no-cd crack because I am playing with a Downloader Key on a cd install. It doesn'tr cause any problems although the crack seem really temperamental, some times it refuses to work all. It is probably just a bad crack but it was the only one available for 1.4 when I downloaded it.

The no cd crack works prfectly well. You have, after all, paid for your copy of 2142. It mearly dispenses with the need to have a cd in your drive to play the game. The no cd bug is the the biggest problem with nearly all EA games products, but do they fix it?. I have heard its caused by the games own anti piracy software yet effects people who have legitimate copies of games. My step son had the exact same problems with BF2 nad 2142. We went as far as reloadind XP and buying a new CD drive but the problem soon returns

I advise against a no cd crack...

Patch right to 1.4 if you can, the 1.25 incremental is not mandatory. Once that is done install FS 1.1 full... or FS 1.0 then FS 1.1 incremental.

Firstly i'd like to say hi to everyone here

I have installed BF2142, patched to 1.25 and then installed FSmod.
Everything worked perfectly, but obviously there were no people on the servers on version 1.25

So i patched BF2142 to 1.4, the game runs perfectly in multiplayer. but after the patch trying to run firststrike just gives me an error: Please ensure installation cd is in your drive!

I've tried running the mod via the community tab within BF2142 with exactly the same error..

I'm running on winXP

Like i say BF2142 runs fine, but FS refuses to get past this error. i tried several months ago with same error, i'm just about to give up :¬(

Any help would be very much appreciated
