Recently, I've been doing some really complicated planes. All thrusters, no hoverballs and no weight changes. You should give that a try. Once you are good, you could add on prop spawners (bombs) and guns. My lastest creation is a World Wae II Biplane, with a 500 pound bomb and propellor-synchronated guns (so you don't shoot the propellor).
