hi everyone... just started playing this mod yesterday. yes bunnyhopping is annoying. i play bf2 on a tg server where they kick bunnyhoppers and stuff. after reading this i would say:

a. reduce jumping height (to that of a normal human) and make all taller objects climbable the same way a ladder is.
b. make jumping affect the energy of a player more....so they can only jump twice and have to wait longer between jumps. (not sure if this is hard coded)
c. make their soldier change to an actual bunny rabbit if they hit the space bar too many times...and remain this way for the rest of the round and all their weapons will change to look all carrot like.

heheh ok really.... a. would be enough. but i dont know how possible that is. and b. might be annoying if you are going through some rough terrain.

Many of you are obviously unaware that bunny hopping was a physics glitch present in some older games whereby a player could actually accelerate his speed of movement by repeated jumping. Bunny hopping does not exist in Battlefield games, so what you lot are discussing is simply jumping.

Not only can you not fire at all while jumping, but after landing there is also a significant delay before you can fire again. Try the old BF2 'dolphin-diving' move (jump then prone and fire together) in either vanilla 2142 or FS. You will find that you can't fire for about half a second after you go prone. Now try going prone and firing – you can fire immediately you land (although you won't be very accurate at first). Incidentally, this is one of the big gameplay improvements of 2142 over BF2, as in BF2 you could fire on the way down from the jump with no loss of accuracy.

So-called bunny hoppers don't bother me in the slightest. Maybe that's because I just play for fun and don't particularly care for realism or lore-accuracy. I accept that others have a different outlook, but similar to Cunningmunki, I think the jumpers just look daft before I kill them. All they are doing is putting themselves at a serious disadvantage by not being able to return immediate and accurate fire... easy kills!

And because I don't get wound up about other people jumping around like fools, I feel no guilt whatsoever at putting in the odd evasive jump myself!
