I have tried everything sugested in this thread more than once and none of it works for me

I guess il have to wait for the next update of FS, and the 1.51 patch is announced.

Run the +szx +szy thing in windowed mode. It should give an error message.

ok heres a problem. i can play yavin fine in windowed mode BUT i dont see the death star its all blacked out which really sucks.

secondly when i type in the szx and szy thing it crashs my game on load up..

thats my input to this

I think the latest Nvidia drivers (177.83) help some; I can start and spawn fine now(as Rebel) and even turn the 3d icons on and off but as soon as I come into range of the 3d icons for the deflection towers I get the same glitches as before if 3d icons are on. Maybe you could try changing the 3d icons for the towers to something more basic and see if that solves it.

Hi guys, great mod! Unfortunately the yavin map did not work for me. Tried about everything in this thread but no dice. But i got it working now!

This wil be of no use to online play but atleast you can check out the map. When creating a local game make sure you add another map before the yavin map. You start with the other map and when in game vote for the yavin map. since you are the only one you will load it immediately. and voila it works!But do not touch the alt key, that scews it up.

how to vote: in game hit tab and keep it pressed. right mouse button: your cursor appears. navigate to the server tab and click on the yavin map. go back to the game and hit page up to vote yes.

if i hit tab, i dont see the active screen (black), only the border/icons keep on

I simply set the resolution to my laptop screens native resolution of 1440x900 . I had not been able to do this before as it was not listed in Video Options as a resolution.
So I added +szx 1440 +szy 900 to the shortcut path and bingo, perfect screen ! (Thanks to suggesting windowed mode which set me on the path to this)
So to sum up - right-click on your FirstStrike shortcut, and select properties.

Doesnt work for me dude:(I already do that with 2142 anyway and i added the resolution once it had installed.All that happens to me is the map loads i click deploy then it freezes with just the background visible.

After I read the thread of one guy with the sound problem, I looked around in the profiles folder. There I found this -> My files/bf2142/Profiles/video.com

You can edit the Hz number of the screen resolution here, it could help.

And I also found the line: VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 3
What is the VideoOptionScheme 3? The overall Settings or something like that?

It works, but the HUD is messy and there are som tears and stuff on the screen resembling artifacts, and this is while using the fix of +sxy +szy .. playing in windowed worked, but the screen was all black exept the hud was visible and i heard the swooshing, but i could fire and all
