We'd like to thank everyone for the huge turnout since the release, it has been quite a thrill to play on full servers.  However, with the additional players comes additional strain on our website as the bandwidth is stretched.  Over the past several days you may have witnessed some problems with the stats page, or the forums, or just the website in general, but there was a very good reason behind it, and today we have some excellent news to share with you: First Strike has a new sponsor!

Shattered Planet has graciously decided to host our webserver following the succesful release of First Strike v1.2  What this means for you, our fans, is that our website (www.fsmod.com) will load much faster now that the strain has been eased by Shattered Planet's more robust server, and the problems with the stats page and forums should be resolved by now.  Enjoy our speedy new website and feel free to stop by Shattered Planet's website to check out their stuff.

Join the Dark Side

Now that First Strike v1.2 has been released, it's time for the team to stop playing around with all the fun new toys, and get back to what we're supposed to be doing: making a mod.  Although we will probably still play with our creation, there is much more to be done.  To that end, we would like to enlist some more help to assist us in recreating beautiful Star Wars locales.  Specifically, we're seeking experienced, dedicated texture artists with a love for Star Wars that can consistently produce beautiful, lore-accurate textures for our statics, vehicles, characters, etc.  If you think you have what it takes please read the guidelines for the application here, and post an application here.  We are always seeking other types of help as well, so if you're talented at other things such as modeling, animating, coding, etc. feel free to submit an application.  Be sure to include examples of your past work!

Hot Hotfixes on the Way

As some of you have undoubtedly noticed, there were some issues discovered in the v1.2 patch, but have no fear, a hotfix is on the way.  We're testing fixes for some of the known issues right now, and we hope to have everything cleared up and a hotfix out to by this weekend.  In the meantime, enjoy v1.2 and be sure to continue leaving us your feedback in the forums.
