Its something to do with the map that switch the colour scheme in the background and this is what crashes the game. You can see it happen in windowed mode.

Works for me for a few seconds and then it's all messy again Actually its not alt+tab but only alt that does it on my system. Guess the 3d map is somehow causing this bug

In the 1.25 hotfix you can now alt tab out of the game. Once you hit join game at the end of loading yavin just alt tab out of the game and come back in. This will allow you to play yavin.
