I snipe people in the head all the time in FS but the hit box in 2142 seems like it is from the neck to the eyes. I have noticed in vanilla it usually will be a complete miss in the forehead or above. It seems to be the same way in FS but still I have had no problem pulling off head shots.

However in regular 2142 I never had a problem with hitting the heads. If I shot someone in the head they fall over dead :-P

Its only in FS where someone can be infront of me with 1/2 their head showing and have 5 sniper shots go right through it.

I have this suspicion that the visible shots and the ones that count are two different things. It's a Bf2142 engine thing, in that case. Happened in Bf2, too, come to think of it.

Also if you insta-prone and shoot at someone right in front of you, you'll sometimes see the shots go right through them without registering. So again, I think the visible shots and the shots as handled by the server are two different things, and that it's a bug/limitation similar to how you can hit a fighter without the hit registering.

But I actualy see the bolt go through their head... I know it counts as a miss but still seems like something is wrong when im standing above someone shooting at their head and nothing is happening.

I can confirm - headshots will cause the persons head to snap back - usually resulting in a kill but I don't think the game acts like BF2142 where ONE shot will kill someone instantly.

If you hit the head, you will notice the head snap back a little.. if it does not snap back.. its a miss.

I shoot through the head of someone (see the bolt go through their head) and it does no damage. Happens with all weapons.
