Thanks for the help guys.
Sadly i did some research into this problem and it seems to be a fairly tricky one to get rid of.
Annoyingly since this computer isn't really mine, i'm not really able to tweak about with it.

I plan on buying a new one for myself hopefully within the next few months, so if all goes well then i should be back playing FS soon.

Hi there, i got a few questions for you.

the error is from the so called "blue screen of death"?

try scanning for virusses

also if you do a "Ctrl+alt+del" how many system processes are there running and how much cpu speed and ram space are they using (in total)

what do you mean with system checks? checked every Harddrive for errors and damaged sectors? if not do that.

while removing FS did you remove the "my Files/Battlefield 2142 folder?

the minidump cant give the error seeing as that is the file where windows put in al the data it has that could have caused the error.
Also you might say the specs are alright, but stil could you post your pc specs?

Hey

After getting hold of a replacment CD Drive i was then able to reinstall BF2142 & FS, but now i'm back to having my original problem.

Basically every thing loads up fine, then as soon as i click "Join Game/Deploy" My computer restarts.
When it finally loads back up, i get the classic "Systen has recoverd from serious error" (Or some thing along those lines)

The Error message displayed, is some thing along the lines of; "C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini12010156-15.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\USER~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER1.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml"

So i originally believed it was a problem with the Minidump, so i tracked down the correct file and deleted it, attempted to play FS again and had the same problem.

After about 2 hours of random attemps of fixes, heres what i did;

- System Restore
- Driver Updates
- Deleted the Minidump folder
- Reinstallation of both BF2142 & FS
- System Checks
- Took computer apart to make sure nothing was effecting my cooling fan again

Well i did a few other basic things in hope of some fixes, but all seemed to fail.
My computer is over the system requirments for BF2142, also it originally played fine for about 2-3 months.

Obviously i could just re-format the computer, but i'm currently sharing a computer with some one else and that person isn't willing to do a re-format.

I'm not really too sure what else i could do now.
My tech knowledge is fairly basic, if any one else has any ideas on possible solutions to this, then it would greatly help.

- FinalxDeath
