LUKE -With what I've experienced refreshing does nothing. You can go so far as to exit the game and reload and still have the misreporting of players/server status.

TITTASID - Whether or not it's a general BF2/2142 issue or not, if it's widespread in mods (including FS) it's relevant. There have been several fantastic BF engine conversions released and all have seen playerbases quickly dwindle. It's likely that competition from other games and mods combined with lack of effective advertising is to blame for most of this. Having said that, if the browser misreports in such a way as to make populated servers seem empty and hence be filtered out for many people... Well, it's obviously not a Good Thing. For all I know BF2 and 2142 suffer the same issue, but with very large player and server counts it's likely not as noticeable and/or damaging.

[SiD]Tolmodus

This may have already been covered, but given the hand-wringing going on related to server populations, I think I may have noticed something...

It seems that the internal server browser is reporting populated FS servers as being empty. This obviously isn't the case all the time, but repeatedly now I've removed filtering and joined an empty server, only to find out that isn't actually empty. This could of course lead to servers that are actually (and increasingly) empty, as players either never see the servers because they are filtered as being unpopulated, or they see the server as being empty and don't bother joining.

If this checks out I'd suggest reposting the information to the general boards so people have a heads up that it might be an issue.

-[SiD]Tolmodus
