Am getting constant disconnects, pb is allowed through firewall and updated. Running Windows 7 x64

Heres my pb log:

I just went into C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and set pnkbstra and pnkbstrb to run as administrator.

Will report back soon.

Update: I think that might of fixed it, no disconnects as of yet.

Okay. Well. I didn't do -anything- yet and today it's been running perfectly.... Not only is this strange but it's unnerving to think that's gonna keep happening on every damned Community Games day D:

Are you on Vista and is UAC on? There are two PB services, pbA and pbB both need to be set to run as administrator. Start a game, join a server then alt tab out and bring up task managar to find the two services and go from there. That shoud sort it.

Bah. This has been happening to me all day today, Worst time for it, too.

Every time I join -any- server. I can stay in it for perhaps 2-3 minutes before getting my rear smacked right back to the Server screen with the mood-smashing "You have been kicked from the server by punkbuster".

I don't get it! I had no unnecessary programs running, PB is updated and I ran PBscv like, 5 times! And it -still- does it. It's really annoying and I'd like to be able to play during the community game day

Should maybe put up a brief news post or something about this just so it is easy to find as lately I've seen a lot of people have connection problems when trying to join a server, I think it's probable that a lot of people are falling foul of this.

Oh? Cheers for that.

Reinstalled BF2142 to no avail last night, but after restarting my PC it worked fine, but now you come to mention it I didn't switch on Fraps after the restart so that'll be why it worked that time.

How annoying is that? Weird how it would suddenly stop working like that. Well at least I know the solution for when I get home tonight, cheers again.

Punkbuster, ya gotta love it, eh?

Just googled it, few reports from it affecting BF2142, BF21, COD 5 and a couple others. Seem's its something to do with older versions of fraps. Disable fraps or upgrade to a newer version.

There is a program vrom evenbalance that lests you test you PB install and firewall settings wothout having to start up the game every time.
its called pbsvc.exe and can be downloaded here pbsvc.exe

I can play with no issues on this server (BF-News.de FirstStrike 1.3) which should mean that my client install is working and Punkbuster is working, however all other servers are giving me grief either by not joining at all (thx punkbuster) or by saying that I have modified content.

Silly question. Are all the servers in the server list with the description 1.3 actuall 1.3, and is it possible that others are having issues with them 2.

Any feedback is great

The fact it works on PB enabled servers at all say its a communication issue with the evenbalance servers. strip down your security settings, and uninstall any free garbage spyware bullshit everyone loves to install, and then try ... If you have Norton internet security , youve got a whole family of variables within that one program alone. Spybot , adaware , ( my hamsters those are F@#king trojan horses people !!! ) get rid of all that stuff ... You only need a good firewall ( not many ) , ( if youre a cheap a$$ , get the free version of zonealarm )

Thanks RabidJohn; I've been searching endlessly about this crazy PB issue and it is really hard to find all the answers without a search engine in the Forums. Wait I just found the search my bad!!!

My issues is that PB disconnects me from Most servers but not all? Right after the map finishes loading. I've manually updated PB and still no change. However I did notice in the taskmanager that Punkbuster A is running, yet Punkbuster B isn't. I'm probably grasping at straws but find it weird that I can join only 25% of servers and the rest I get punkbusted.
