Anyway, I did prefer the puppet Yoda 100 times more to the digital one.

Now, if you're not from the UK, you can be forgiven for not knowing that 'Muppet' has, for the last 20 years or so, been a derogatory term for someone who does something stupid; hence it's application to noobs.

SamZi really surprised me and others by having never heard of a Muppet! How can this be? I mean, everyone's seen 'Sesame Street', haven't they?

Muppets played a bigger part in Star Wars than many people realise. Many of the creatures in the OT were Henson-inspired/created. Whilst Yoda was the most ambitious in characterisation and realism (one of Henson's original objectives when he started Muppets Inc.), banthas were probably the most ambitious in scale, as it involved putting a Muppet costume on an elephant!
