I would suggest looking at the Ultimate Mappers Tutorial Sticky and the Mapping Q&A thread to get an idea of what you need to get a map working in game. As far a placements...all you need are a Rebel and Imperial CP and places to spawn. That should be it. The most troublesome part is making sure certain configuration files have all the relevant FS info. These nuances are covered in the threads mentioned above.

I never liked that map anyway to be quite honest. Like the Rebels would have hung around there long enough for Imperial reinforcements to arrive. Still would surprise me if there wasn't an EU story detailing such an encounter, could be a good ref for your map if you do choose to pursue it.

I recall the team making the temples for Yavin back in the day when this mod was for BF2. But I'm not sure if they could be imported into the 2142 engine let alone if they still have the files floating around some place. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask if infact you are interested in making a map Stoney. Either way, I'd like to play that map too, but only if there was air and ground forces. This mode needs more of that for sure. MMmmmm MMMmmmm Tasty!

i would think a ground battle of Yavin would require you too build a lot of new statics (temples etc) if you can make custom statics then go for it; if not im afraid you will get stuck very quickly unless sumones kind enuf too make em for ya.

First Post by me and must say hamsters DAM GREAT MOD.

I thought about making a map on Yavin 4 with the Imperials have to attack the Yavin base on foot after the first DS blew up.

I know there was at least 4 temples on Yavin4 so they are going to take one at a time then get to the The Great temple.

Was also looking to make it sort of time limited..EG The Rebels are escaping and the Imperials only have so much time to take the Temple or all the Rebels will escape..

A few questions as this is my first map ever.

Is this ok with the Dev's as not to do the work and find out someone has already made one.

Have read the the making a map guide but I want to keep testing it as I make it. What objects do I need to make sure the map works when I am testing. I am guessing a couple of spawn points and maybe a coupel of speeder bikes just to fly around in to check things.

Is there anything else I would need like sky and Stuff or and special settings

Any help would be great.

Cheers Stoney316
