I try my Joystick out... but the controls keep randomly changing themselves meaning sometimes I can fly, sometimes I can't   I think I fly better with the mouse, anyway... but maybe thats because the few times the joystick has worked rightm the configuration has been a bit... iffy.

is it "possible" to drive a space fighter without a joystick without... you know... suck ?

Oh yes, it just takes some time to get used to flying with mouse and keyboard. I've never owned a joystick let alone tried one. It does help to have experience flying choppers in BF2 and 2142. Some may have seen me on Ryloth hovering over a point with an airspeeder capturing it or raping the crap out of enemies trying to capture it.

I did play a little mp yesterday (an hour or so) just to check it out. It was when I've read the user guide I found out HOW to even find servers hehehe. I'm looking forward to play a space map with lots of players (who teamwork with formations, order etc). That is going to be so awsome. SW has the best looking space crafts. Just have to get my dam mic to work and maybe buy an joystick... is it "possible" to drive a space fighter without a joystick without... you know... suck ?

I will spread the word. Though not to many friends as they don't play computer games.

- There's absolutely no benefit in not joining a squad.
- Joining a squad increases the chance that you'll stick together with team mates, which in turn increases not only the intensity of your firefight but also the odds of you surviving and your team winning.
- You get bling - FS hands out certain stuff only to players in squads so and so big.
- Your Squad Leader gets bling - only three people needed in a squad for the awesome tripod laser cannon that can tear apart even AT-ST's rather quickly.
- Your Squad Members get bling - did I mention some of the stuff is awesome?

Oh, and be sure to check out the Wiki, especially the User Guides. The ones aimed at beginners and should be of great help.

Then, when you've discovered for yourself what it's like, go tell all your mates and post rave reviews on all the forums you can think of. Spread the word!

Singleplayer is a pretty good way to get familiar with the game. Hopefully it'll be included with the mod itself in the near future, rather than as an additional, unofficial download.

But quess what? Woke up this morning, logged in on the computor (to check the mail and stuff) and read all this. One hour later I had bought the game. Just felt this is something I have to own! Took me couple of hours to make it playable but now it works as a charm and I'm lovin' every minute of it! I have only played singleplayer and looking forward to night when some MP is avaible.

I know what you mean RSF Angel. There have been a lot of good SW games but none (atleast the "old" ones that I've played) of them was about the common soldier. Only swish and swosh with light sabers. I'm really looking forward to shoot me some rebels to night hehe.

I'm a huge SW fan and have been told that this is the real deal for a SW game and... well is it true? Please don't say "f'ck yes!" but tell me really, why?

Hi Hokos! I'm a huge starwars fan too- been playing starwars games since i owned a PC. Have you ever played a starears game, enjoyed it but felt it was lacking?  Jedi knight was an awesome game series... but in every level you walked through cool environments and got to see cool vehicles and starfighters, but not use them.

JKII let you drive a ATST for a while but it was a bit silly. Multiplayer was always fun too but it never felt like you were part of a team or anything.

I played X Wing Alliance for ages online and had lost of fun in RSF with Red squad. Xwing alliance was limited in the amount of players you could get online before the game would LAG like crazy. The combat was ok but it got a bit sameish after a while.

AAAAAaaanyway.

First strike puts you in the galactic civil war in a way you've never been there before. It is what Battlefront should have been. You are a common soldier in the Rebel alliance or Empire and you have access to authentic weapons and equipment. You have no lightsaber, no force powers to bail you out this time!!
There is an arsenal of vehicles and aircraft in the game that handle like you would expect them to. They are powerful and used well they can turn the tide.
But the most dangerous weapon you have at your disposal is the guy next to you- your team mate. (Especially if that team mate happens to be me... but i digress.)
You communicate and work together in squads. You work as a team in squads.

Thats it and its amazing. I've played the other Battlefield games and lost of SW games and no-where have I seen the sheer level of co-operation.

Try it and you won't be disappointed- I guarantee. 

everything else is amazing, the graphics , equipment and maps are great- but I'm here for the teamwork. Well, I'm actually here for space, but I stayed for the teamwork.

Go out and buy the hell out of t2142- my clan mate picked up a copy for 9 dollars.
