It even does the same when i play the normal version now (do i have to uninstall the old version in order to play the beta one?).

A lot of files were corrupt when installing and the game ctd just before you get to the deploy button

If you tried the old one first and had deluxe you need to delete FirstStrike.exe from your 2142 folder before trying again.

Also, when you start it up if it seems to crash right away and you used to play in widescreen put +widescreen 1 in the arguments within the preferences panel.
