There should be an option : make all the little things disapear. Why ? Because it's what's making my comp laggy. On strike team, lot of trees, no lag. On mos espa, lot of little things, 9fps

They should make simpler 3d models to players who have weak video card. That way they would get more players because more people could then play game.

It's not really about that, as far as I know. As was said, FS is all about big numbers. The space maps are 8x8 km, Mos Espa has far, far more buildings than, say, Karkand, Endor Strike Team has literally thousands of trees...

Just turn down your graphics setting. I play it with everything on low except Terrain and Textures (which can be set to high without performance loss), View Distance at 100% (obligatory anyhow), and lately I've turned Lighting and Dynamic Lighting on.

By the way, I noticed strange bug: I cant see star destroyer in Escape from Hoth.
Can you see it?

Got to agree - quickest route to improved FPS. Even sacrificing a chicken wouldn't be sufficient!

FS isn't half a hungry bugger!

It has more things on the screen at any one time.

Take the tattoine levels - there are LOADS of buildings, all at different levels, different hights, and different kinds etc. It takes a better PC to handle that than it does to handle, say, Highway tampa in normal 2142.

Yes, but this havent got better graphics than 2142, so why this needs better computer?

Video cards weak... the rest sounds fine.
256 would be considered bare minimum.
Get a 512 video and enjoy ! Then you could max the settings.
i bought a 1 gb video card last month for less than 150 dollars. the result from a 512 was fantastic.
And it wasnt shabby at 512.

128 mb Vram, 2gb RAM, 2,4 GHZ Single core processor.
In Battlefield 2142 i have good fps almost always, except in Wake island 2142 map.

This really isnt a bug, as FS was designed with medium to high specs in mind. I too have low FPS on a great deal of maps and I have a med level spec computer. What are your specs?

My computer runs Bf2142 whit enough good fps. But in some First Strike maps I have strange lag.
For example, Mos Espa. If I look to desert, my fps is 20 or more. But if I look to town, it goes to 10 or less. I cant play that and some other maps properly. In some maps I have low fps always, it does not matter where i am looking. (for example Ryloth)
And if my drawing distance in Mos Espa is less than 88, everything goes blue.
I have no problems with 2142. I have tried First Strike with lowest possible settings, but it does not help. In some FS maps I have not very much problems.
