You're welcome of course. The thing I love most about this game is when i get to tell people that if you deploy X, it will do Y... and they rejoice in the sheer awesomeness of what this mod can do.

And you picked up the basic idea pretty quick

Heh, Golden Dragon as well? This is indeed a blast from the ancient past of First Strike, good to see you guys are still poking around to keep up with whats going on, you'll have to get in on a game some time.

Actually, it isn't hard to believe. There's alot of hard working, dedicated and talented people on this team and I didn't expect anything less from them.

Here's something Aquila posted in the first days of First Strike. I just wanted to post it to show how far First Strike has come and give Aquila some props for starting it all.

you may be asking, why am i here? who is this leading this project?

you are here probably because you heard it is a starwars mod for the BF2 engine, and like most people here are a big starwars fan.

now to the second question, i am a student in the UK, and i like doing most things creative, i was awaiting the conversion of an old bf1942 star wars mod to happen but it looks like the team is currently working on another project and has no plans for working on anything starwars related, neither does anyone else.

im here because i think the BF2 engine could be made into a great starwars mod it has a massive amount of potential to be used to anyones imagination.

Also some may be asking why make a mod when battlefront 2 will be out soon?

my reply to that is, yes Battlefront 2 is out soon and looks really good, BUT your have the oportunity to guide the mod to the star wars world you love and some talented people will be able to recreate it.

i have only recently got into modeling and enjoy doing it and i know there will be others alot more talented than me, fair enough, but i am willing to help get a team together and help them make a mod thats going to make headlines.

im sorry about the forums looking a little well.. (Crappy) but i have used proboards before and its a good service. who knows we may get an official site up soon if we get the support and webspace, but thats for the future.

Ah, my old friend Golden Dragon! I think you were a master when I left. I was reading the proboards post when you were showing off your laser effects and I asked you to apply for the team. I was always impressed with what you could do in the editor and how fast you learned to do it. I think asking you to join the team was the best thing that I contributed towards First Strike. It's good to hear from you.

Of course I remember you Un-Co! Yeah I remember flying an F-18 into the ISD on one of the Battlefield 2 maps. That was pretty cool and I felt it was a big success because we knew we could atleast have a static Star Destroyer in-game. I had some fun with that X-Wing but I was just trying to work out the physics and see what could be done. There were alot of big challenges to get over for that X-Wing to work right but obviousley you'll overcame them after I left.

Everything is great for me I'm engaged and doing very good now. Thank all of you for the kind words and I'm glad I got a chance to catch up with a few of you. I'll try and get me a copy of 2142 this weeked and join a server with you guys. Go easy on me though, it's been a long time since I've played Battlefield.
