Yeah i did everything with default, the only thing i have done differently was before i uninstalled it i installed SP3 for Xp,
sorry i forgot to mention that because it was a few days before i tried again lol and thats the only difference i can think of.

Did the whole thing you did mike, but still have the same problem.. maybe you installed to someplace other than default ?

Whoo Success
Ive Uninstalled again and deleted the BF2142 Folder in My Documents
then searched my Registry for anything Bf2142 related and deleted
Then reinstalled from fresh and now it works

I did the same, but it stayed the same. Still cant play.
Im sure we will get a response like we did before.
Mike1045, when you start the launcher does the screen flicker and change the color of your desktop?

My Bf2142 is in its default directory,
ive now reinstalled bf2142 to 1.5 and tried again but no luck

Game, yes. BF2142 must be installed to its default directory. But the Launcher, no.

I've reinstalled a few times, and downloaded the launcher again to no avail

Does it have to be installed to a specific directory?

Can you try reinstalling your launcher? The installer for it should be located in C:\program files\electronic arts\battlefield 2142\mods\firststrike\ called fslauncher or something along those lines. Make sure you uninstall the current, first (should have an uninstall button in start menu)

Hey,
Im new here and just discovered first strike, I've always been a fan of star wars and 2142 so couldn't wait to play, but i am getting the same error as Slimshiesty on trying to launch the launcher
my log file shows nearly exactly the same.

Just saying good luck and thanks in advance on fixing this problem

So my original problem is a shader problem, and wont allow the launcher to even open without an error?
And i need to update and log into the DS sever to see if it works now?
I would have loved to have got a mod content error, then i would have had a clue how to fix it.
I will see what i can do to udate.

I was trying to start it multiple times with the same result, set as admin, UAC is off.
