If you're having trouble after an update, the seemingly best way to fix it is to:

1) Uninstall First Strike
2) Delete all builds in your Battlefield\Mods folder
3) Delete your cache folder in My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Mods\FirstStrike
4) Install First Strike 1.4 Full
5) Use the Launcher to update your game again

With the amount of people having trouble after an update, it's possible there's a never before seen bug with the updating that we didn't catch pre-release. So your best bet is to reinstall 1.4 and patch.

me too pam but i have vista x86. mine is always when i hit deploy it crashes. The problems started with 1004 though and it seemed mostly to be with mos espa. Now it is all maps.

I had problems after todays 1005 update, constant CTD's with the "... has stopped working" message.

This happened
- occasionally in game for no apparent reason
- occasionally after hitting deploy
- during every single map load
(i can connect to a server, load the map and play until the map switches)

I rarely ever had a crash on vista before (ive been running it since v1.3) and i didnt touch my setup, so im pretty sure its related to this update.
Granted my version is patched up from 1.2, but always worked fine til today...
I will get a 1.4 full installer and try again.
