Top tip though, join a low slot server if it's quiet, playing 64p maps with four people aint a lot of fun!

Most people don't realise the best way to get people playing is to join a low populated server themselves. Most people are put off by the lack of players ingame, but that could easially be fixed with those people just joining a server themselves. Players will come join fairly fast.

I've never seen a populated server before GMT 16. So try a few hours after that and you'll have more luck finding a populated server. It would be great if everyone used Game-Monitor to check server population. It's quick and easy, just add this to your bookmarks:

Wish we could have some sort of agreement on when to populate a server. We can gather heaps of players for the Community Games so this could work. Say, have everyone populate a server between 17-18 GMT. It seems that people take a long time to start the game to see if there's anyone on and (this is especially true to new players) when they see no populated servers, they start to think there really are no players on, ever. This is not true but when things get quiet, more and more people start giving up thinking "oh bugger it there won't be any players anyway."
