I never said it wasn't capable of running FS, all I'm saying is that at the resolution he's quoting he's pushing it pretty hard.

Oh, and an 8800GT is a better card than the 9500, which is based around the 8600 chipset.

One thing I would consider is removing some of that ram. Your using a 32 bit OS, which can only 'see' a maximum of around 3.5 Gb. Can you tell me what configuration your ram is in? ie 6x1gb sticks, 2x2gb and 2x 1gb sticks etc. You see, some motherboards only like particular ram stick configurations and that could be contributing to your problems.

If you go to system information take a look at the physical ram properties and see how much is registering, then open up the case and remove the sticks that aren't needed. Make sure your mobo can handle 2gb sticks if thats what your using, then fit only 4gb of ram in total in matched slots.

Your running with a good core pc but a low end card. Your running the card pretty much at it's limit at that resolution with everything on high. Turn it to medium settings or get a faster card.

Just out of interest, try running fraps to see what sort of frame rate your getting.

Check your graphics card settings.. if V-sync is enabled, disable it.
That should clear up your FPS problems.

No it shouldn't. My rig is close to yours and I run all settings maxed out at 1680 x 1050. My fps is generally around 80-90 but can drop to 40 or so in intense battles and in certain areas like the mines on Ryloth and even lower around the huge turbolasers on Bandomeer. Have you checked your actual FPS with Fraps?

As for your resolution "lag", what do you mean? Lag suggests increased latency, do you mean you have an FPS drop?

thx everyone!! i deleted both my bf2142 and first strike cahces and i reupdated the game and it works now ^^ cheers!!

for some reason the bf2 and bf2142 lags when i put reselution on 1650x1050 with my pc specs shoudent it not lagg?

i deleted my cache it didn't work..

and my original bf2142 is version 1.5...

i think the problem is i'm just not lucky...

Deleting the cache works for me. Try deleting your vanilla one to.

I'd also try deleting your cache, some people report that this often works for them. To find you cache go to start, my documents, Battlefield 2142, Mods, First Strike then delete the folder called cache.

Ps, 6gb ram on a 32 bit OS?? WHY?

Just be patient mate, support sometimes takes a while, many of us are busy.

Have you patched BF2142 to 1.5? If Yes, go into your BF2142 install folder, go to your "Mods" folder and delete all files with a name similar to "FSBuild xxxx.zip" Once you have done this, open your launcher, go to File -> Preferences and set "Version" to "1000", hit apply then okay, then update again.

If you HAVEN'T patched BF2142 to 1.5, you can get a link to the patch HERE. Download and install that, then I'd recomend re-installing First Strike before attempting to cnnect to a server.
