They are still in the process of setting it up, but everything is looking good so far. I belive they will have a tester server ready for tomorrow sometime, I'll help them out, make sure everything is working right, and if it is you should be able to swap your mod to first strike no bother.

Good News: After speaking with MultiPlay support staff again, they belive they may be able to host First Strike properly. They are in the process of integrating it but can't gurantee 100% success, I'll get back to you once I have more information.

Yes, I think the main problem with this multiplay package is it's a ranked server, so they can't overwrite files to use the updater. You need to buy an unranked server to use FS.

On the plus side a standard unranked server would be a hell of a lot cheaper

Well, unfortunately, there is nothing the First Strike team can do about this. With their refusal to update, you are going to have to settle with a normal 2142 server, or get a refund and try somewhere else.

Gmaeservers offer NO Fs support, but have an awesome video and really good prices.

And you can maunally update your server, like I do.. pain in the pie, but very cheap.

I'm fairly sure Hypernia and WolfServers offer fully functional packages.

I will speak with Multiplay staff tomorrow and see about getting First Strike removed. All that they are doing right now are misleading people. If I can't convince them to add it, I'll ask them to remove it.

While I'm at it, I'll see about what some other server providers are offering regarding First Strike.

Tell them to treat FirstStrike like they would any other game, not a mod, or to stop offering FirstStrike at all. We offered to release a full package of server files that is everything needed to install FS, just like 2142 offers everything needed to install its server. No 2142 server file download required, so they could make their install package, but they declined. Until they realize it's its own game, as most providers have, I would say you'll need to find a new server provider.

Can't they play on any other server? DSgaming is located in germany and RT in the UK. Those are the most popular servers.

I seriously don't understand people putting up more and more servers when there's plenty enough. Game-monitor (http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php? … l&pg=1) shows 15 servers atm and only a couple of those get played on.

MultiPlay already have the auto-updater, they just don't use it.

As I said, make a complaint on how you asked about buying the server specifically for this mod, which they KNEW was out of date, and they didn't tell you. Threaten to cancel and ask for a refund, unless they update the server like you were led to assume.
