You can always edit the controls.con with an editor.
The controls.con of BF2142 is the same as in BF2, were even entrys for Boats and Jets, lol.

WARNING: make a copy of controls.con before editing, and store this copy outside of the profile (in a drawer called storage or so), and make a copy of the edited controls.con as well, if you must restore the controls.con !

AFAIK you must add the following line to the part called:
ControlMap.create HelicopterPlayerInputControlMap

ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PISprint IDFKeyboard IDKey_LeftShift 0 0
ControlMap.addButtonToTriggerMapping c_PISprint IDFGameController_0 IDButton_6 0 1

The ID number of your joysticks button will be different, to get the ID it's the best to bind the key first on the trigger (with the ingame options) and copy and paste the triggers id.

By editing the controls.con its also possible to use a Joystick in the Commonroses (for Squadleading and Spotting) or to make double entrys for one key / button.
For example:
I have two Extra Buttons on my mouse. As Inf i use the to switcht to Weapone 2 & 3, as Tankdriver i use them for switching Cockpit / external View.

The anatomy of controls.con
http://forumplanet.gamespy.com/battlefi … 5424189/p1

By the way... Is it possible to add the missing booster option in the controls section of the menu ?

I don't quite remember if I asked someone in-game, or made a forum post about this, but anyway...

I need to figure out how to bind the boost function of the speeder bike to my joystick, since there's no afterburner for aircraft, but the bike uses aircraft controls.

I've already tried binding the joystick control to the infantry sprint/vehicle boost, with no luck. I seem to remember having to do something complicated outside of the game to get this to work. Any help would be appreciated.
