Two DS servers, with no admisn about. One box is in Germanz, one is on US East Coast.

Wolfservers are East coast.

RSF, RT and BI (3 most popular servers) are all hosted on Europe.

Unfortunately the US servers have map problems, making them less fun.

The DS server is American afaik, though at the moment its only playing Yavin.

What kind of connection have you got? I live over in Idaho and i can play on the populated servers over in europe with an "alright" ping. I'm on a 1mbit connection aswell too.

I feared that might have been the case. It's a shame there's not many populated West Coast area servers, or even East Coast.

Near the west coast. I suppose it could be the problem but very few servers ever show up at my usual amount of ping, but then again there aren't that many to pick from.

Were are you located? You might be playing on servers farther away then in your other games.

Abnormal Ping

When I play First Strike two things tend to happen that don't happen in any other of my games(BF2142 included). One is my ping tends to be around 180-300, when I usually get anywhere from 70-90. The other is it tends to spike for no apparent reason, jumping randomly from upper 100's to upper 700s. I've tried disabling my firewall , although it should be noted it seemed to make no difference from playing with it on and an exception added. It also seems to possibly jump higher the closer I am to other players, but only at very short range.

Any advice?
