Hi folks!

Finally I am back again, but somehow this fine mod destroys my vanilla BF2142 almost everytime. I thought I'd post this issue especially in THIS thread, because it was the last error, that occured (everytime its s.t. different).

I have a legit copy of 2142, disc version. So during a community game in the past weeks the game crashed. NP, so I thoght, but...after the launcher, when the 2142 loading screen pops up, there is a checkbox saying "that there is no gamedisc in drive", or something equal. I am re-installing everything right now and hope, that it will fix the problem.

Even a "no cd" patch didnt fix this issue, as I might want to add (the original install dvd IS in the drive!).

I justet wantet to give smoe feedback to the devs of First Strike, so if some more fans have this issue, it might be tracked down...dont say, they have to, just want to help encircle this problem in particular. I hope you understand, what I am trying to say, as english isnt my native language

System Specs:

Win 7, Home prem 64 bit
4gigs of ram
radeon hd 4870
Ühenom 9500 quad core
msi-something board
x fi gamer

So, I am installing patch 1.5 and FS now, a good day to you and hope to see you ingame again soon

Regards,

Obi-Jan

ok, thx for fast reply. but ive tried all that you stated in your post. I have a legit cd version of 2142 and have uac disabled from the very beginning i had my laptop. I dunno why but running the shortcuts with administrator rights make no difference at all. Anyway im playing on wolf server now. to bad other servers have almost no people playing on them. Sad to see how little people are playing this kickass mod.

I guess i'll have to give up on the laucnher. If you could tell me how to surpass the widescreen hack though i would be very happy. I was thinking about some kind of ini file. You guys implemented it in the launcher so at least someone should know how to enable this feature outside of the launcher.

thx in advance

Ok so as the title states when i press laucnh bf 2142 loading screen comes up, stays there for 10 mins, unless i alt-f4 it. and then it says cd not in drive. I've tried crack and everything, no images can be found so havent tried that yet. Anyway ive seen lots of people with this issue, please just help me fix it (and the other people having this issue too of course) I can play the mod using a solution stated somewhere in this forum, by starting 2142 and going to community and launching the mod this way, but with this method i can not use the widescreen command, i have a 17.3 inch laptop and without widescreen it looks like crap or is there another way to enable widescreen. Anyway it would still be much appreciated if you devs could fix the actual launcher so everyone can play this awesome mod without troubles. Please help me (us)
