I agree.
Some fair points about the Falcon's abilities are made tho. It has military grade engines.

I think this fan theory is willing to pick and choose from the EU, which is fair enough, as EP 1 kills a lot of the back story for the Deathstars.

It makes a lot of sense in some respects, but less so in others. Chewie and Lando were not partners in the past so that is a no go regarding the explanation of how Chewie has always owned the Falcon. Also Leia is definitely giving R2 the plans at the beginning of A New Hope. The message is recorded by R2 himself, note how the holographic message ends with Leia bending down to slot something in the droid just as she does in that scene on the Tantive IV (not to mention the fact that she actually states that she has placed the information within the droid in the message). Other than that there is, like I say a lot that does make sense, and it does make you think quite differently about the events of the original trilogy. R2 is clearly one of the only characters who knows the whole picture throughout all 6 movies, which makes him an even more intriguing character.

It makes sense that R2 is 'in' on a lot of things. The Datavault seems to imply that R2 escaped mindwiping by hiding or something. It'd be much more awesome if he's actually the most reliable and capable member of the cast from I to VI.
It also explains that nonsense with Obi Wan's epic lie- Dont seem to recall ever owning a droid...
