Its got big honkin engines for the getaway and its concealed undercarriage guns are meant to fire parting shots at imperial pursuers or, in extremis be used for fire supression during a heated extraction.

Naw, I'm afraid that is a prequel asset, so off limits to First Strike really. We do use some EU assets when we're in search of a type of vehicle that doesn't appear in the movies, such as the T-1B and Firehawke tanks, but we try to draw the line at using prequel assets.

Besides, the Theta wouldn't really add anything to the mod as it is pretty much the exact same size and fills the same role as the Lambda. Plus Rebels have form for thieving Imperial assets (as seen in Return of the Jedi), so to have Rebels using the Lambda at the moment is fine, though as I said earlier, at some point we will look at creating a Rebel equivalent.

I have looked up some of the shuttles and I found the Theta Class Shuttle. For those who played SWBF2, its an imperial ship, but if you look through some of the pics, one of them support that the Rebel Alliance had access to these ships, therefor proof the Rebels had them. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Theta-class_T-2c_shuttle

You can basically take the Lambda Model, and Skin/shape it to look like the Theta, and use that for the Rebel Transport.

you've (probably subconsciously) made it way too similar to the Stormtrooper Transport.

Quite consciously.

The wookipedia article described it as an imperial grey blocky wingless MAAT/LAAT. With less armor and weapons.

Throwing in the sharp 'Transport' edges helps destroy most of the beauty of the LAAT while looking formidable.

Hope I don't sound too critical, I appreciate what you did.

Not at all. This is designed to be an Imperial light transport tho- I would do something different for the rebs.
The article specifies a pilot, gunner and 6 passengers.
Thats why I gave a similar layout to the 2142 gunship for weapons- the number 2 slot gets anti infantry blasters.

If it was going to be put into the mod and we wanted more for the passengers to do, yeah we could put a blaster each side of the chin (where the balls are on the LAAT)

For the rebs- I'd design something that looked non military and with a cockpit displaced to the side (like the falcon) to break up symmetry.

There are enough airspeeders/airtrucks/airwinnebegos in the galaxy to simply put armour on one and strap on some MK1's.
Talon's right, we dont have to resort to 'one day, Princess Leia chanced across a big parking lot full of ex military LAATs lying idle and said yoink'

check out this cargo/personell shuttle from 40k:
