This was not a problem when the patch first came out, but it's slowly gotten worse over time. I am hoping that its because the 1.51 patch requires its own server to authenticate and EA did not set up enough for the beta patch, but that I will work better once the final patch is released. For now, I am disconnecting from the internet and testing offline for my first strike modding.

You wouldn't see any ervers because you're now running a different version of 2142 (1.51) as opposed to the public version of 2142 v1.5. Until 1.51 passes beta and goes to pub release I doubt any First Strike servers will be running it.

Yea i did that trick but then i couldn't see any available server, well, i'll remain waiting for the final 2142 patch, until then, reinstall 2142 to 1.50.

We know. We've already discussed it in our secret area. It's a very simple fix, just copy your 2142.exe from the folder and rename it to firststrike.exe. Now replace firststrike.exe with your new firststrike.exe, lo and behold, first strike starts with no cd.

You won't be able to join any servers though with the 1.51 beta installed.

Hmm, interesting...

I have installed the patch and there are a few things that came to my attention. The Bf2142 itrself doesn't request for the cd upon startup anymore, but first strike launcher still does , the bf2142.exe has now a different size than firststrike.exe, which is obvious. but the problem is - FS won't start. i get an error message after clicking launch. so my conclusion - the launcher must be updated i think.

I am trying the beta out with First Strike offline and haven't had any problems so far.

Hi j23k, yes we're aware of the 1.51 patch, not sure what our plan is as far as the beta is concerned, but certainly when the 1.51 patch is fully released we'll be making the minor tweak to First Strike necessary to make it compatible.

Hi,

As many of you know the official beta bf2142 1.51 patch is out. Did anyone test it with FS?

I just would like to ask first before messing up my bf2142 installation.
