Simply copy and paste your current BF2142 forlder and name it Version 1.5 than install the Beta

Now your 2142 folder is 1.51 rename that one to beta and rename the 1.5. one back to bf2142 with this you can switch from 1.5 to the beta

Or create a second shortcut for the 1.5 folder and redirect it to the exe of the game in that folder.

I'd just like to note that before you can download this patch, it is likely the patch is NOT final, and that you'll need to reinstall bf2142 from scratch to get it to work. You also will NOT be able to play on a First Strike server with this patch installed.

A new patch for bf2142 is coming out? Awesome! I heard rumors about it but I didn't know EA was actually working on it! What new things will it have? I heard it will have Strike at Karkand from bf2.

To echo Gwynzer's reply, no.

As he has rightly stated, this patch is currently in beta. What I can tell you is that FS does work with 1.51 (no cd part especially is good), it's just a matter of renaming and replacing one file. In effect then , the hardest part is done. While we could go ahead and issue a patch immediately for that it still wouldn't help you too much. Unless all the current servers update the vanilla 2142 files to 1.51 you may still face issues.

Once 1.51 is publically released, is finished, FS will be updated to keep it current.

So, to summarise, FS will work with 1.51 (already tested personally with the beta). We do not plan to issue any updates related to this issue until the patch is made public and server updates are issued when it is out of beta.

Although I'm not a dev, I can tell you with pretty much certainty that FS will not be updated to 1.51 beta. The reason being that the beta is only a temporary patch("beta). Once 1.51 is finalised, people will get to work into integrating FS with it.
