Aye, both Battlefront games featured pretty good Battle of Hoth maps.

There was even a very well made fan produced map pack for SW: Battlefront 1 that expanded Hoth quite a bit making it much more massive than the original Hoth that came with that game, actually some would say they made it too big, but that was an epic map with a lot more depth. That said, the one we're planning should be even more completist than that was with a very comprehensive layout for Echo Base, and once again a fairly sizeable map.

...Now if we can just figure out a way to do working tow cables in the Battlefield engine.

I felt that Battlefront did a good hoth, actually. Battlefront 2 expanded on it too, but the expansions weren't available in the regular modes . The only issue with Battlefronts hoth was the fact it was battlefront.

I, and probably everyone else here, has been waiting for/wanting Hoth since before 1.0 was released.

It's shocking that no commercial Star Wars game has recreated the Battle of Hoth...and really, only one mod has (GC).

I appreciate all the hard work that's gone into this mod, even though I can't really play it with my horrible ping.

Indeed, as Talon says the more support we have the more drive we have to do something. Recently there has been a lack of players, personally speaking that has diminished my want to work on the mod. Why do something if no-one wants to play it?

If you the gamer wants to see this stuff then you have to show us we aren't wasting our time working on it. I'm not going to put my heart in to something no one is going to play. It takes a lot of time and effort to produce this stuff!

As long as they are not odd or funny numbers? Maybe.

It is really all pretty dependent on the support given to the mod by the community and the time that the FSDev team can dedicate to it. If there are lots of people out there who still want to play it? Then we'll keep on making it.

Conversely if no one is playing it, then our drive to put in all the hard work will not be as strong, so jump in on all the Community Games, show new players what a cool mod this is and get those servers populated.

When you say update do you mean the news update, or the actual new map? If you're talking about the map it'll be a while off yet, there's lots of stuff in there already, but still lots to do, as you can imagine this is going to be a massive and complex map.
