On the subject of the X-Wing redesign, next generation design, T-65_2.0 or whatever, I hadn't noticed how the wings split in such an unusual way, had to do a freeze frame just a frame before that scene ends to get the full close up shot of the new X-Wing. The split engine intake is obviously based on the original McQuarrie concept art for the X-Wings that were first drawn up for Star Wars, but the way the wings split up is new and interesting.

...which featured the life size prop of the new X-Wing you can see some of the wing details given away here which hint at the different wing split config seen in the trailer, no split in the leading edge of the wing for one, and another interesting addition is a slight downward curve to the front wingtip, and I'm guessing an upward curve for the tail end which allows enough space to mount the traditional 4 blaster cannons. An interesting design tweak to the already iconic X-Wing, different, but still very much familiar, I like it.
