Re: At Last! DICE to make the new SWBF!!!

Sullust was hard, I've also tried Tatooine and Endor, Tatooine was easier than Sullust by far, Endor felt slightly easier even though I died a few times on it and it was much faster.

Re: At Last! DICE to make the new SWBF!!!

It seems that most of the negative feedback is coming from PC players, which is not surprising.   Battlefront is designed for the Console as an easy to play game, not a tactical shooter.  PC players tend to be more of the tactical shooter types.  There seems to be a different level of expectation between console and PC gamers.

I did see a report that there were lower than expected retail sales, but that is most likely because of the increase in online sales.

I have also seen feedback that Walker Assault and Supremecy are the two major gamemodes.

I also saw feedback that leveling up seems like a grind after you have played through all the maps.

Re: At Last! DICE to make the new SWBF!!!

Y'all been playing on the PC? Apparently there are now 5K "peak" players online at once for that platform. Given the amount of regions, maps, and modes that are available, I imagine it's actually a massive struggle to find a game outside of the core gamemodes.

I was hoping to pick it up when it went super cheap but it looks like by that time the game will be dead.

Re: At Last! DICE to make the new SWBF!!!

I've been playing the PC version and I only have trouble getting into populated matches if I toggle the Battle of Jakku playlist (I still get in, but it'll take a few tries). Almost all matches are full or close to it if not.

Considering the Battle of Jakku is a free DLC pack, and it's available to everyone now, I don't understand why DICE didn't merge it into the main playlist via a game update this week.

Re: At Last! DICE to make the new SWBF!!!

Only had trouble getting other game mode matches on Jakku before it became widely available, now it has gone out to the general public I haven't had any trouble. Sometimes I'll get an empty server with some of the smaller map game modes, but usually by just kicking off the server search again it finds me a populated one if it didn't on the first attempt.

Re: At Last! DICE to make the new SWBF!!!

Hmm, interesting. I wonder if the region we're connecting from is a factor.

Well, in any case, I REALLY wish we had a server browser and the ability to setup private matches.

IMHO, an Instant Action mode with full bot support is imperative. If DICE were to implement this, it would speak volumes of how seriously both they and EA are taking fan input, and the boost of faith fans would get would be invaluable to them.

Not to mention the longevity having this kind of mode would add to the game. It costs money to run servers, and the simple fact is one day they will be taken offline. That's just how it is. And considering how much of the game is focused on online multiplayer, it'll essentially kill it.

Just thinking about having an Instant Action mode gets me super excited. The ability to play every map in every mode alone or co-op with a few friends to practice using everything at our leisure, or just plain explore the maps and goof around would be so much fun. There's a big push for it on the official forums. I sure hope DICE will do it.

Re: At Last! DICE to make the new SWBF!!!

It would be great if DICE eventually added bots that could play on multiplayer maps and modes, but the sad fact is that unlike the current Frostbite engine currently used by Dice, the old game engine, Refractor, used for Battlefield 1942 thru 2142 games, was designed from the ground up with Multiplayer bot support.   But, when BF1942 came out, broadband internet was just staring to become available mainstream and many were still on dial up, so bot support was essential to increase sales.   When DICE developed the Frostbite game engine, simple bot support was all that was included because of the change in focus in online multiplayer.  Multiplayer bot support just isn't currently available with the Frostbite engine and DICE is not going to add it for a title that is already released.  It cost too much for a DLC.   Despite the online petitions and all the feedback, it just is not going to happen for any current titles.    We can, however,  hope that DICE will consider it for next Battlefront release.
