Has gotta be said, this is looking pretty awesome, only a little bit of in game footage though, and still early days, but it looks like they're going to do it right though. Here's hoping.

Basically: Very interested and unless they do something truly horrible it's going to be a "most buy" even if it looks like it'll be just mediocre because hey, it's Battlefront.  Main issue for myself and quite a few others is the fact that it is both A: EA and B: Dice.  I'm not very happy with DICEs decisions recently (all the BF3 and BF4 mappacks would have been free maps in patches, BF Hardline would be a BF4 Expansion pack in the old days), and the Premium models. . .  Be prepared to pay for the game twice.

I mainly played the battlefronts on the PS2, but the reason they stayed so popular on the PC was the access to easy modding and massive amount of community maps.  We won't get that with the Frostbroke engine.

I just hope they make it good and don't design it as a yearly release model. That'll be awful for the series.

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

What I hope is it doesn't play anything like the last 3 or 4 battlefield games wherein it takes about 2 shots to kill or be killed. One thing I always liked about the early BF games was it took many hits to take someone down which allowed for more strategic and skill-based encounters.

I never played much Battlefront(it bored me for some reason). Plus I had GC to play so why would I play that? lol

Still, it looks like they are paying close attention to detail and accuracy on the art side of things which is nice. No doubt they will also weave in content from the new movie and likely time the release to coincide with the film's debut. Long way off yet.

I hope Dice take a look at what GC and FS accomplished and utilise that. While FS didn't quite enjoy the same player numbers that GC did, it has still been recognised by Dice as a great mod and Star Wars game in its own right.

If it has some space combat, I'll be front of the line.

That's exactly how it is for me when I play BF:BC2 and BF3/4. lol My opponents... not so much. Few things are more frustrating than emptying your DAO-12's entire drum into another player's head at point-blank only to be taken out by 2-3 hits from his pistol or SMG moments after.... stupid internet.

Honestly though, my internet problems aside, I have to disagree. I love the more realistic damage for the very same reason you don't, and I'm really hoping the new Battlefront follows suit.

In my experience it helps promote and reward teamwork, strategy and tactics much better than the old BF games because if you don't work together with your squad/team and play smart, you'll be respawning quickly and frequently.

I guess what DICE could do is widen the gap of damage dealt/received between Normal and Hardcore modes so everyone is happy.

While GC was good, what you've guys have done far surpasses it in every conceivable way. FS is nothing short of an amazing feat. Here's hoping DICE takes a good look at FS.

One of the main reasons I always wanted DICE to helm the Battlefront series was their meticulous attention to detail and commitment to immersion and authenticity. Something Pandemic's original two Battlefront games were sorely lacking.
