Good grief EA, make your mind up. Well that is sad news if that is the last word on the matter. Why on earth did they make announcements that they were going to save these games only for this to happen a month later? Perhaps someone added up the numbers and realised it wasn't financially viable or something? Either way, especially with the end of BF2 they have really killed a serious chunk of the modding community.

Its "still being looked into" apparantly, but at this stage I'm not keeping my hopes up. 

There was talk of looking at communtiy assisted ideas. I think the major community which is going to be crying out are the BF1942/BF2. These games also have the people with the technical knowledge to probably handle the problem.  Not sure about 1942, but if BF2 is going to be rescued then 2142 probably will be too.

They've kept most of their older games running for almost 10 years in some cases, I'm surprised that they are going to let all the older games get shut down or at least not work online. Sad news if they don't save them sad

PR gets its own master server, together with FH2. If you get in touch with AncientMan (from PR), you may be able to use the same server as well and keep First Strike alive after all.

Is gamespy going down on the 2nd of June because, I got on 2142 today and every thing seemed to be working correctly I could join servers, search for them etc... anyone know whats going on with gamespy?
