Can you go to your FS install directory (eg C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\mods\FirstStrike) and open the file named version and tell us the number written there? To play on the server you should now be running 1022, that would also tell us that the installer has downloaded and installed any updates.

If it is at 1020 then we will need to try and work out why you cant run the installer. Try making sure it is set to run as admin?

Yeah, I checked this before. It's 1022, as it should be. The crashing yesterday occurred while the server was running Battle of Taloraan. It's running the same  map right now so I can't really check if the problem is map-specific.

*EDIT*

Just had a check, also getting CTD when trying to join the server on Taloraan, however singleplayer worked fine. For now I have removed Taloraan co-op from the server list. Please try again to join.

Yes, thanks, it works now, or at least I was able to join the server playing Endor Clearing without CTD. The crash risk seems higher on the space maps for some reason, I got the same thing when trying to join Battle of Yavin before the server went off the grid about a month ago. Back then I think I ran a clean install of 1.6 though, without the updater.

I thought the public build was 1020 and if you updated you would not be able to join their server?

The server has since been updated and now requires build 1022.
