ACTUALLY to be more specific the United States of America Special Forces have the single best track record, are better trained, and happen to be called in to train SAS units sometimes. Sorry but let's face it ... the British have the 2nd best special forces in the world. Didn't make the rules I just follow them.
The British trained Americas Special Forces during WW2 and instilled modern day special operations tactics and protocols for them.
1942 - 1945 Operations behind enemy lines in Aqedabia, Sirte and Agheila. Normandy Invasion parachuted in behind enemy lines prior to this. Also took part in Operation Houndsmith to liberate Dijon, also in Operation Market Garden and later took part in hunting down Nazi War Criminals
1946 - 1979 Took part in the Malaysian Emergency, Korean War, Oman, Aden, Indonesia and Brunei were they saw action.
1980 - 2001 Iranian Embassy Siege - 6 terrorists killed one captured. 24 out of the 26 hostages survived.
Falklands War premptive assaults on Argentine mainland air bases, south georgia island and at Port Stanley.
1991 Gulf War hunt and destroy Scud Missile Launchers deep in Iraqi Territory.

Discovered by the Iraqis, they supposedly fought their way to the Syrian border over a distance of 120 miles, killing around 250 Iraqi soldiers along the way. This information about the British is PARTIALLY true ... the British could not actuall afford the manpower to train U.S. soldiers, (which we wouldn't need after two times defearing the British 
)nonetheless ... yes, the British did initially train U.S. Special Forces to some extent(Not counting that U.S. Special Forces actually unofficially began in America's fight for freedom which includes little known attacks on British soil).However U.S. Special Forces began the use of guerilla tactics and laser guided ordinance in which U.S. Special Forces taught the British to use. Don't hate the playa, hate the game.
