It's not massively multiplayer, from what I have read, but rather a chain of missions along one large campaign.  It's 32 players, with the next map being decided by what happens in the previous map, essentially.

etqw has been in production for a while now
and they made a whole new engine (besed on doom3 but waaaaaay improved) just for this game

well it is only a piety it is only 32, loved to see 64 players too in Quakewars, so this means 16-16 on enormous fields smile
